About

AfricanNGOs.org is a platform dedicated to sharing insights, resources and thought leadership for and about African NGOs. It aims to inform, inspire and strengthen the work of NGOs across the continent by providing timely, relevant, and accessible content rooted in deep sectoral knowledge and practice.

AfricanNGOs.org builds on the success and impact of @AfricanNGOs, a widely followed X (formerly Twitter) account I launched in 2017 to spotlight the work of African NGOs, amplify learning, and share tools and opportunities that can support their missions. It has become a trusted source of information and connection for African NGOs.

AfricanNGOs.org extends that role – offering a more in-depth, searchable and structured platform for long-form articles, sector analyses, curated resources, and original commentary on trends shaping the African NGO sector. It is intended for practitioners, funders, researchers and anyone interested in the evolving role and impact of African NGOs.

This initiative builds on my experience as a development consultant, advisor and researcher, with over 25 years of working with and supporting African NGOs, philanthropy actors, funders, and other development stakeholders across the continent. My work focuses on strengthening local organisations, shaping funding and partnership strategies, and generating knowledge to support a more resilient and impactful African NGO sector.

Through AfricanNGOs.org, I aim to contribute to a more connected, informed and forward-looking NGO ecosystem in Africa – one that centres African voices, promotes collaboration and enables African NGOs to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
