Your Voice Matters: Help Us Assess the Impact of the US Funding Cuts on African CSOs – Deadline: 7 April 2025 (extended to 10 April 2025)
Recent decisions by the US Government (USG) to freeze and cut foreign aid have disrupted vital programs and services provided by African civil society organizations (CSOs). These changes are affecting crucial development and humanitarian efforts, putting communities at risk and threatening the sustainability of many organizations.
Yet, the full extent of the impact remains unclear. Funders and policy-makers lack critical data on which CSOs have been affected, how they are coping, and where support is most needed.
With the support of the Firelight Foundation, @AfricanNGOs and EPIC-Africa are surveying African CSOs to gather the missing data and ensure their realities and voices are heard.
If your organization has been affected, whether directly or indirectly, your participation in this survey is crucial for:
- Assessing the financial, operational, and programmatic impact of these funding changes.
- Highlighting the strategies CSOs are using to navigate these challenges.
- Identifying solutions and policy recommendations to build long-term resilience.
For the purpose of this survey, African CSOs are defined as not-for-profit organizations based and operating in Africa and founded and governed by Africans. International NGOs or other entities operating in Africa impacted by the funding changes are not in the scope of this survey.
Make your voice count! Complete the survey now. Click here (English) or here (French).
It will take approximately 20-25 minutes to complete.
The submission deadline is Monday, 7 April 2025 (extended to Thursday, 10 April 2025).
Please also share the survey in your networks – every response helps strengthen our collective voice!
A report on the survey results will be shared with all participants and other stakeholders.
By participating and sharing the survey with others, you are contributing to a deeper understanding of the impact of US Government funding changes on the critical work of African CSOs and influencing efforts to sustain their operations.
Thank you for your time and commitment to strengthening African CSOs.
